ABOUT US

BEN WHYNTIE

Ben is a distinguished audio engineer and music producer whose career is built upon a rare and extensive dual foundation: elite-level performance and production expertise.

Since starting the trombone at age seven, Ben's musical journey has been a dynamic blend of precision and passion. His career highlights include graduating from the Royal College of Music and performing at world-renowned venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Festival Hall, Buckingham Palace, and the Kennedy Arts Centre in Washington D.C.

Equally proficient on the drum kit, Ben has performed over 600 function gigs, played major international festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, Latitude, and Sziget, and contributed his talents to over 100 studio recordings. This unique performer's perspective is invaluable, allowing him to anticipate artists' needs and translate performance energy into final mixes.

After college, Ben leveraged his technical skills in London, working in the audio department for the popular game franchise PlayStation's SingStar, gaining essential experience in high-volume, professional audio delivery.

In 2011, drawn by his lifelong fascination with sound capture, Ben moved back to Portsmouth to focus on audio production. He soon took over The Old Blacksmiths Studios, where, over more than a decade, he honed his craft working with hundreds of bands and artists across the South of England.

In 2025, driven by a vision for a personalized, high-end production space, Ben made the decision to close The Old Blacksmiths Studios and relocate. Taking all the knowledge, experience, and the very best equipment from his 14-year tenure, Little Piggy Studios was born at his new residence in Havant, UK.

NEIL ELLIOTT

Neil is a highly skilled and dedicated recording and mixing engineer with a commitment to capturing authentic, powerful musical performances. With over two decades of professional studio experience, Neil has become a trusted name in the UK's independent music scene.

Neil’s technical journey began with a First-Class Honours degree in Music Technology from the prestigious Rose Bruford College, providing a deep, academic understanding of audio physics, acoustics, and cutting-edge production techniques.

For twenty years, Neil was the driving force behind The Old Blacksmiths Studios, serving as an engineer and producer. During this tenure, he collaborated with hundreds of local and regional bands, helping to shape the sound of the contemporary music community and earning a reputation for technical precision and creative versatility.

Crucially, Neil approaches every session with the perspective of a fellow musician. As an accomplished guitarist and bassist, he brings a practical understanding of arrangement, tone, and performance dynamics. His personal experience playing in numerous bands and touring the UK several times means he speaks the same language as his clients, ensuring the technical process always serves the creative vision.

Neil specializes in turning strong performances into professional, radio-ready records, applying his deep knowledge of signal flow and sonic sculpting to achieve killer mixes across all genres.
